Job Summary
Provide comprehensive transportation and logistics coordination and expertise to the Transmission Field Services organization. Oversee the transportation and logistics needs for Transmission station and line material. Provide business environment knowledge and cost effective solutions to transportation issues. Work closely with customers and suppliers to develop and maintain on time delivery success and communicate any anticipated changes to the transportation schedule to the appropriate personnel. Continually look for ways to provide customers with cost effective transportation and logistics services. Act as primary point of contact for Transmission Field Services for transportation and logistics issues and initiatives.
Job Description
What You'll Do: Implement and monitor a strategic external transportation and logistics plan that identifies targeted savings, increases service capabilities, and promotes continuous process improvement. Conduct transportation activities including, but not limited to, managing a centralized hauling process, providing internal and external guidance, coordination and assistance on effectively hauling material. Identify, review and analyze inbound and outbound material flows for optimization opportunities and efficiencies. Manage outsource hauling work authorization agreements and problem resolution. Monitor hauling contractor service levels and prepare hauling contractor scorecards. Seek out qualified transportation hauling, innovation and support material which can meet Transmission Field Service's needs in the transportation marketplace, and communicate new transportation hauling options to the appropriate personnel. Establish uniform claim procedures and assist field personnel with hauling claim resolution.
What We're Looking For
Education requirements are listed below: Associate Degree in Business Administration or Technical related field. Work Experience requirement listed below: Four years' experience in operations, supply chain, logistics or transportation industry. Demonstrated analytical, scheduling and business process capabilities are strongly desired. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Physical demand level is Sedentary 1) This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to develop strong communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills. 2) Analytical and organization skills are desired. 3) Computer skills are also essential including Microsoft Office and Excel Spreadsheets. 4) Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to coordinate multiple activities will be critical to successful performance of this position.
