About this role
Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Enablement Engineering At Johnson Controls, we create smart, healthy, and sustainable environments where people live, work, learn, and play. Join the Manufacturing Enablement Engineering team and help prove and deploy new manufacturing technologies that strengthen production capability across Johnson Controls sites globally.
What you will do
This role is focused on turning new manufacturing concepts into scalable, repeatable solutions. You will partner with product engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, and site teams to develop processes, qualify equipment, and support technology transfer from early validation through production readiness. Success in this role means delivering manufacturing solutions that are practical, measurable, and ready to scale across multiple locations. As this is a Cork-based hybrid role requiring attendance in the office three days per week , candidates who are not currently based in Cork or the surrounding area would be expected to relocate. How you will do it Own and advance the manufacturing technology roadmap for new product introductions and site deployments. Lead process development for advanced fabrication technologies and new manufacturing methods. Develop modular manufacturing cell concepts that support flexible, repeatable deployment across sites. Support the proofing, integration, and deployment of automated inspection systems and other enabling technologies. Coordinate design-for-manufacturability feedback loops with product engineering and manufacturing operations. Manage cross-site technology transfer, process qualification, and production readiness activities. Define, track, and report manufacturing milestone metrics to confirm readiness and deployment progress. Partner with internal teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues and remove barriers to implementation. What we look for Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or manufacturing technology development. Demonstrated experience supporting new manufacturing technologies, process development, or production deployment. Strong knowledge of DFM principles and the ability to partner effectively with product and manufacturing teams. Experience working across functions to support process qualification, production readiness, and cross-site technology transfer. Ability to communicate technical recommendations clearly and drive alignment with diverse stakeholders. Desirable Experience with high-speed laser cutting systems, bonding processes, or precision sheet metal processing. Exposure to modular manufacturing cells, serial/parallel process module buildouts, or technology scale-up across multiple sites. Experience with automated inspection, machine vision, or ML-based defect detection. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement methods. Why Join Us This is a chance to shape how Johnson Controls proves, qualifies, and deploys manufacturing technologies at global scale. You will work with knowledgeable teams, solve meaningful technical challenges, and help build manufacturing capability that supports long-term operational excellence. If you are ready to help bring new manufacturing technologies from concept to site-ready reality, we would love to hear from you. #LI-Hybrid #GOSIA
