About this role
Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built. Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen. If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
The Role
Hadrian's Robotics team builds hardware and software that powers next-generation manufacturing. We're looking for a Robotics Software Engineer Intern to help design, develop, and deploy the software behind our intelligent automation systems. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on real production systems that operators, technicians, and factories depend on every day. We move quickly, ship continuously, and turn real factory needs into production-ready products.
What You'll Do
Build and improve internal tools, dashboards, and automation systems that support factory operations Contribute to backend services, APIs, and data pipelines used across engineering, operations, and quality teams Help design and implement features that improve visibility into production workflows, capacity, and program status Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, program management, and quality to understand requirements and deliver software solutions Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews Surface technical risks and contribute to architectural discussions What We're Looking For Current university student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 Strong proficiency in C++ or Python Exposure to motion control, trajectory generation, and robot kinematics/dynamics Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams and end-to-end project ownership Excellent communication and documentation abilities Passionate about advancing manufacturing automation through robotics innovation Excitement for manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial systems Comfortable working in a fast-moving, highly ambiguous environment Willingness to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA What Will Set You Apart Prior internship or project experience shipping production software Interest in manufacturing systems, automation, or industrial software What You'll Gain Hands-on experience building software for a high-growth, mission-driven industrial company Direct involvement in real production systems, not just internal tools or side projects A front-row seat to how Hadrian is transforming aerospace and defense manufacturing through software, automation, and data Compensation For this role, the target hourly range is $46.15 - $50.71 This reflects the lowest to highest hourly rate we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this intern position at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range is subject to change. An intern's hourly rate within this range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to relevant education, prior experience, skills, geographic location, and the nature
