The Senior Director, Compliance Policy & Education is a member of the Compliance & Ethics Leadership Team responsible for three enterprise capabilities: Compliance Policy Governance, Compliance Education, Communications & Culture, and Enterprise Non-GxP Policy Administration. This role establishes the strategy, governance, and operating model for these programs globally and leads a team responsible for policy governance, compliance education, enterprise policy administration, and culture initiatives. The role partners closely with Legal, Human Resources, Enterprise Learning, Corporate Affairs, Information Technology, Quality, Internal Audit, and business leaders to strengthen a culture of integrity and support practical understanding of compliance expectations across BMS.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Policy Governance Lead governance, administration, and continuous enhancement of BMS’s global compliance policy framework. Oversee development, review, approval, implementation, and retirement of compliance policies, procedures, standards, guidance, and related resources. Drive simplification, harmonization, and modernization of compliance policy materials to improve usability, employee experience, and operational effectiveness. Partner with C&E subject matter experts, Legal, business leaders, and functional stakeholders to translate compliance requirements into clear, practical expectations. Establish review cadences, governance standards, metrics, and reporting to provide visibility into policy health, review status, risks, and escalations. Compliance Education, Communications & Culture Develop and execute the global Compliance & Ethics education, communications, and culture strategy aligned to enterprise risks, business priorities, and regulatory expectations. Serve as the primary relationship owner between Compliance & Ethics and BMS Enterprise Learning, partnering on global compliance learning strategies, curricula, deployment plans, and engagement initiatives. Oversee foundational, role-based, and risk-based compliance education programs and ensure content is practical, engaging, measurable, and aligned with business needs. Lead compliance communications and awareness initiatives that reinforce integrity, accountability, transparency, and ethical decision-making across the enterprise. Own and oversee the BMS Integrity Champion Program and global Integrity Champion network, leveraging the network to promote ethical culture, awareness, and compliance engagement. Monitor education effectiveness, engagement, and culture-related metrics and use insights to enhance program impact. Enterprise Non-GxP Policy Administration Serve as enterprise leader for administrative management and lifecycle governance of BMS non-GxP policy documents. Oversee document control support, metadata management, version control, approval coordination, periodic review tracking, archival processes, and document retirement activities. Maintain operating processes that support clear accountability, timely reviews, accurate classification, and escalation of overdue or at-risk policy documents. Partner with functional document owners, enabling functions, Worldwide Commercial, IT, and other stakeholders to keep policy resources accessible, current, and consistently governed.
