About this role
The North American Network Design, Planning, & Engineering (NDPE) Containerization Strategy & Engineering (CS&E) team aims to develop novel containerization strategies and network-level material handling capabilities to increase capacity, reduce cost via touches reduction, and maximize delivery speeds through cycle time optimization. The CS&E team partners with stakeholders across business-unit specific engineering teams, Amazon Robotics, WWDE, and many others in order to align a vision for the future state of pre-sortation and containerization throughout the multi-fulfillment delivery network (MFN). The Senior Supply Chain Manager will own a program or series of programs aimed at transforming the way 1P packages and containers are handled throughout our delivery network. The successful SCM will have experience managing highly visible and cross functional initiatives, driving strategic alignment across a diverse group of stakeholders and motivations, and a high drive towards identifying E2E wins and analyzing associated business impacts to present streamlined business cases for investment.
About the team
The GTS Network Design, Planning, & Engineering team focuses on both near term and long term 1P requirements that enable capacity growth, cost reduction, faster speed, better quality and greater sustainability in our transportation network. We prioritize solutions that deliver against strategic corporate transportation related goals, with a focus on projects that support achieving our speed, cost, and reliability objectives. While we have specific targets to deliver, our team operates with limited boundaries that requires us to lead large cross organizational initiatives, and identify, pilot, and deploy new opportunities that deliver results. We are a collection of engineers, PMs, BIEs/DSs, and supply chain leaders that use our technical and operational expertise to provide direction for the future requirements of the transportation network to continuously deliver on behalf of our customers.
