Job Description
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Sales & Business Unit Director to lead the Data Services & Storage business in Germany. The role reports to the Head of Data Services & Storage for Central Europe and is part of the German Country Leadership Team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director and senior Sales and Business Unit leaders across Germany.
Key Responsibilities
Lead HPE’s Data Services & Storage portfolio in Germany, including storage platforms, data services, virtualization, data protection, cyber resilience, and software-defined infrastructure. Own the business unit’s profit and loss, order growth, revenue, operating profit, and investment performance. Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term business strategies to deliver above-market growth. Drive integrated infrastructure- and software-led opportunities across storage, virtualization, data protection, hybrid cloud, data management, and AI-ready infrastructure. Lead the German Storage sales organization of approximately 70 Sales and Presales Specialists. Collaborate closely with Account Management, Digital and Inside Sales, partners, and other sales teams in Germany and across the wider organization. Drive adoption of HPE’s software portfolio and position these solutions effectively alongside storage and infrastructure offerings. Own the sales strategy, sales coverage, cost optimization, forecasting, and disciplined sales process management. Optimize direct and partner routes to market to expand existing customer relationships and win new accounts. Build lasting, consultative relationships with key customer and partner executives and act as a trusted advisor on modernization strategies. Develop talent and create a high-performance culture focused on coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement. Lead the sales, marketing, operational, and financial activities of the business in Germany. Represent HPE externally through industry, community, customer, partner, and media engagement. Ensure compliance with applicable corporate governance and business control requirements.
Education and Experience
Required University or bachelor’s degree required; an advanced university or master’s degree is preferred. 5–10 years of sales and progressive management experience. 10–15 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in storage, data services, infrastructure, software, or related technology markets. Demonstrated success growing a business, expanding a market, increasing market share, and delivering profitable revenue growth. Proven experience managing profit and loss, budgets, investments, and resource allocation. Experience leading and transforming large sales organizations in complex and highly competitive markets. Demonstrated success building executive-level relationships with customers and partners. Fluency in German at a native level and fluency in English.
