The Field Service Engineer acts as customer and field service interface, drives improvements based on end user experience, and performs corrective actions for field issues, special investigations, and product testing. This role performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal, as well as technical planning, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. The Field Service Engineer manages configuration, builds processes, and identifies manufacturing/engineering defects, facilitates the adherence of product requirements that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints, interprets customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part verification criteria, and acts as a logistical and technical liaison to fulfill customer requests. The primary obligation for this position will be in support of the US Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) on Ft. Campbell, KY. Interested candidates must be willing to travel with little to no notice to support customer events, including deployment to austere locations outside of the US. The ability for a candidate to pass medical screening to receive a Class III Medical Certificate for flight duties, is desired. This position is a fully onsite role located at Fort Campbell, KY. This role may require atypical hours at times based on customer need. Position may require approximately 25% travel. This role is eligible for relocation.
What You Will Do
Shipping and receiving government owned equipment. Making entries into US Army/US Government databases and tracking applications. Managing government equipment software/hardware configurations. Failure trend analysis and obsolescence reviews. System and sub-system debug through serial command line interfaces and remote protocols. Development of Acceptance Test Procedures for both Collins and non-Collins equipment. Analysis of hardware interfaces and wiring schematics to identify and address interoperability/compatibility defects. Handling/Operating cryptographic keying devices. Conducts scheduled, and impromptu, training sessions for software loading and systems troubleshooting.
Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Experience with government program operations. Experience operating/troubleshooting integrated digital avionics management systems on Special Operations rotary wing
