Job Description Role Overview: The ICEX Content Excellence Associate Director is a unique contributor who is accountable for overseeing the International Content Excellence framework across multiple Therapeutic Areas and Affiliates at AbbVie. The role focuses on management, continuous improvement, and optimization of content-related processes, ensuring alignment with the overall Brand Strategy and with compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain the International Content Excellence Framework to meet business and regulatory standards. Oversee and optimize the content lifecycle processes: strategic planning, content creation, smart review, rapid field execution, and maintenance. Champion best-in-class content development and alignment with evolving Brand Stories and business priorities. Influence the design, pilot, and adoption of new content tools and technologies; drive their implementation in partnership with the Content Ecosystem Lead, Areas and Affiliates, for maximum impact. Guide cross-functional teams, including Therapeutic Area and Affiliate partners, on strategic content creation, localization, and excellence. Set and enforce measurable content quality benchmarks, review standards, and performance criteria organization-wide. Define, track, analyze, and report on content performance metrics; use insights to continuously improve processes and outcomes. Serve as the primary point of contact for key cross-team dependencies spanning Areas, Affiliates and International Marketing. In partnership with brand teams, identify process gaps and recommend solutions Role Dependencies: Close collaboration with Brand Excellence, Content Ecosystem, International Brand Teams, Therapeutic Area teams, Affiliates, and relevant internal and external partners. Required Competencies: Strategic Thinking: Ability to create and execute long-term cross-team content excellence strategies aligned with business goals. Digital Marketing Expertise: In-depth understanding of digital marketing best practices, content channels, and campaign architecture within pharma. Process Optimization: Demonstrated skill in workflow streamlining, efficiency gains, and compliance management. Project Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels. Performance Analysis: Proficiency in defining, tracking, interpreting, and acting upon content performance analytics. Technology Fluency: Knowledge of content management systems, marketing automation, and digital adoption within regulated environments. Change Management: Proven ability to drive process/tool adoption and effectively manage change across complex organizations. Compliance Acumen: Deep knowledge of regulatory, legal, and industry standards for pharmaceutical content. Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred, such as an MBA, MSc, PharmD, or other relevant graduate qualification. Additional training or certification in brand marketing, digital marketing, brand strategy, project management, or content strategy is a plus.
