THE ROLE
We are looking for a Fellow to design, develop, and optimize GPU runtime and system software, identifying and evaluating new technologies, driving innovation, and collaborating across AMD teams and with customers from early GPU product architecture definition to production. THE PERSON: We are looking for a talented and motivated GPU software architect with broad and deep experience in compute and machine learning software development on GPU. The ideal candidate is a technical powerhouse with a proven track record of solving complex GPU runtime and system problems, especially in modern data centers with large scale deployments of GPUs for AI/ML and HPC workloads.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide deep technical leadership and guidance for GPU runtime and system features and technologies, optimizing across the entire AI software stack. Collaborate with hardware and software architects from early architecture concept to product deployment. Partner with top customers and hyperscalers to understand their unique workload requirements and deliver tailored architectural wins and software optimizations. Engage with executives and key stakeholders to provide insight into industry trends and recommend strategic initiatives. Act as a subject matter expert and drive “state of the art” technologies to advance AMD machine learning products PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong background and hands-on experience in GPU runtime and system software from low-level device drivers and OS internals up through applications and AI/ML frameworks with strong written and verbal communication skills Deep expertise with kernel, driver and system level development in C/C++ and GPU software development and parallel programing Deep expertise with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs Proven history of communication software thought leadership, backed with patents, publications, and participation in industry standards bodies PREFERRED ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
