Lead Engineer Testing

Summary Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services. Responsible for design and construction of test facilities, instrumentation systems and the development of test software Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy. Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions. In this role you will help define, implement and provide requirements needed for assembly and test efforts for multiple new product lines. This position will require off site meeting support periodically. Will work closely with Infrastructure and Sourcing teams on new construction and upgrades of existing facilities to meet future business demand. Will work closely with multiple stakeholders across various organizations to achieve short and long term business objectives, including management of Government Property. Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing, laboratory, or testing experience) Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, laboratory, or testing experience Additional Information This position is available for internal movement only and is restricted to applications from employees currently within IMAT. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
