CAD Designer – Princeton, IL What You Will Do: · Report to the Capital Projects Manager as a member of the Capital Projects & Automation Department · Maintain & update plant layout drawings in AutoCAD, including all facets of equipment design such as material movement & staging, waste streams, utilities, employee egress, maintenance access, etc. · Collaborate with project engineers, manufacturing engineers, tool room & maintenance on new fixture & equipment design · Generate detailed 2D drawings derived from 3D models that will be used for manufacturing · Provide strong design fundamental skills focused on sustainability, flexibility & efficiency · Provide multiple options for equipment & process layout to review with engineering, operations, materials & EHS · Be a core member of Capital Project teams providing layout requirements based on facility limitations · Assist with layout markups on the manufacturing floor in preparation for equipment moves · Collaborate with project managers & maintenance to identify utility routing & drops for equipment installs · Convert vendor supplied drawings, models & PDF’s into equipment layouts to integrate within the plant layout · Maintain tool & die revisions for existing equipment & fixtures · Reverse engineer OEM components to establish documentation for equipment maintenance & repairs · Transfer design markups and sketches into 3D designs through Creo · Provide feedback on design concepts focused on manufacturability & integrity · Collaborate with tool room & vendors to see design intent through manufacturing, assembly & installation · Generate utility schematics for in-house developed equipment designs · Generate & maintain BOM’s for assembly designs · Assist with material selection for custom fixturing & workholding What You Need to Succeed: · Performs work under general supervision. · Collaborate well with all levels of the organization. · Proficient in AutoCAD & Creo · Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 · Possess strong design fundamental skills · Handle moderately complex issues and problems · Competent design of physical plant layouts and proficiency with AutoCAD · Willingness to travel based on project needs and vendor locations, primary location is on-site at LCN · Familiarity with DFMEA principles · Familiarity with Windchill (PLM software) · Requires an associate’s degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience · Competencies: o Excellent documentation skills o Ability to work as part of a team o Excellent oral and written communication skills o Ability to build collaborative relationships o Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills o High attention
