The successful leader will manage and direct the FBM Missile Flight Sciences Structural model development effort focusing on stress or dynamics. This leader is responsible for leading the Structural team in support of FBM Missile Programs, including Life Extension 2, Common Missile Compartment, Production and Deployed Systems Support, and Payload Integration. The leader will define and obtain the necessary data to refine their team's models as well as ensuring the efforts are detail planned in Integrated Master Schedules. The lead will provide technical expertise for program problem resolution and for program technical oversight and review, and ensure that Engineering Standards, and best practices and tools are applied. The leader interfaces regularly with LM Senior Management, customer counterparts in Strategic Systems Programs and Strategic Programs Flight (SPF), and LM/Strategic Programs (SP) working groups. The leader must exhibit full spectrum leadership attributes and demonstrate a strong aptitude for inclusiveness and strategic thinking. The leader will maintain/grow the technical expertise of this group and is responsible for all aspects of talent management, including training, professional and career development, performance assessments, promotions, and compensation. The leader will collaborate extensively with LM Programs and other Space Engineering functional organizations to ensure program staffing requirements are met, effective and timely. This position will require the ability to effectively work with teams across multiple sites. The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Manages the research, planning, design and development of mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs application of research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Basic Qualifications • Strong foundation and experience in one or more structural flight science - Loads & Dynamics and/or Stress disciplines with demonstrated ability to work with modeling tools appropriate to flight science discipline. • Demonstrated experience leading an analysis team in the support of major reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) • Demonstrated experience maintaining a detailed program schedule and resource forecasting • The successful candidate should have demonstrated ability to organize and lead a group of
