What the day will look like Identify business opportunities for capital injection, capital relief, and structured finance solutions for insurance and reinsurance companies by understanding their solvency, rating, growth, and risk management needs, and translating these into clear, differentiated value propositions. Process and analyze financial and risk data—such as historical losses, business portfolios, financial statements, solvency and capital metrics, and market information—using tools like Excel and basic analysis software (Python, R, etc.) to support the build and evaluation of capital structures and risk transfer solutions. Collaborate on the technical and financial structuring of solutions within the insurance and reinsurance industries—such as capital relief solutions, financed reinsurance structures, quota share agreements with financial components, balance sheet optimization solutions, and risk-linked notes—working alongside technical, actuarial, legal, and commercial teams to define terms, timeframes, financial triggers, and payment mechanisms. Prepare presentations, summary models, and technical documentation in English, facilitating communication with clients, reinsurers, investors, and internal local and global teams. Actively participate in commercial and structuring meetings, presenting proposed solutions, explaining analysis results, and supporting negotiations involving insurance companies, reinsurance firms, and reinsurance or capital markets. Assist in estimating pricing, loss scenarios, cash flows, and sensitivity analyses—incorporating modeling or pricing tools where applicable—and clearly communicate results to support commercial, financial, and risk-related decision-making. Research market trends, new capital structures, and financing alternatives specific to the insurance/reinsurance sector, as well as traditional and alternative market capacities; propose improvements to products, commercial approaches, and processes, with a constant focus on generating business and crafting value for the client. Skills and experience that will lead to success Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science. Experience in insurance/reinsurance, banking/structured finance, business development, or other commercial roles within the financial sector—ideally with exposure to insurance companies, reinsurers, or capital solutions for the insurance industry. Proficiency in data analysis and financial tools; sophisticated Excel skills are important; basic knowledge of Python, R, or modeling/pricing tools is desirable but not required. Ability to understand and analyze sophisticated engineering and economic concepts related to the sector. These include reinsurance structures, financial strength and capital indicators, and impacts on earnings and balance sheets.
