Salary: $70,000 to $200,000 Job Description The Parts Counterperson is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and accurate parts support to both wholesale and retail customers. This position manages wholesale parts sales Tuesday through Friday and retail parts sales on Saturdays, ensuring timely order fulfillment, accurate inventory management, and strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about automotive parts, highly organized, and committed to delivering a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
Assist wholesale customers Tuesday through Friday by identifying, sourcing, pricing, and selling automotive parts. Support retail customers on Saturdays by providing knowledgeable parts recommendations and exceptional customer service. Process parts orders accurately through dealership management and inventory systems. Maintain strong relationships with wholesale accounts, including repair facilities, body shops, and fleet customers. Monitor inventory availability, stock levels, and special-order parts to ensure customer needs are met. Receive, stock, and organize incoming parts shipments while maintaining a clean and orderly parts department. Collaborate with service technicians, advisors, and management to ensure efficient parts operations and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Previous experience in automotive parts sales, parts counter operations, or customer service preferred. Working knowledge of automotive systems, components, and parts catalogs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with wholesale and retail customers. Ability to accurately process orders, invoices, returns, and inventory transactions. Proficiency with computer systems, dealership management software, and electronic parts catalogs. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and drug screening.
Additional Information
Compensation: $70,000 to $200,000 Hourly plus commission (The Parts Counterperson Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include hourly pay. The position may also pay commission compensation which is based on the value or amount of parts revenue department achieved from $0.00 (if no sales are made) without any upper limit other than sales performance. The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit.)
