INFORMATION: For information on Sysco’s Benefits, please visit https://SyscoBenefits.com Job Summary: Under the umbrella of the newly created Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance team, this role will support Sysco’s broadline companies. The role exists to provide EHS expertise to the broadline business, support the field safety team and be the liaison between the global EHS team and the broadline sites. The role aims to accomplish the following: Building a compelling case for change while maintaining excellent relationships with various stakeholders at all levels of management to support EHS objectives and a shift in culture. Developing a high performing team to ensure the execution of the global EHS strategy and goals. Executing on our various EHS processes including: environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, workers’ compensation, transportation safety, contractor management, and business continuity. Integrate the EHS functional strategy into all of the Sysco business sectors and ultimately support Sysco’s overall business strategy Duties and Responsibilities: Design standardized safety systems, policies, training, campaigns and programs to reduce corporate and human capital risk, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Build a high performing team to ensure the execution of Sysco’s EHS vision and strategy. Assist with hiring of site safety professionals. Additionally, participate in annual talent calibrations, onboarding, professional development, coaching and ensure alignment with direct management of field safety team. Provide leadership, direction and oversight of the strategic vision and initiatives to achieve Sysco’s EHS strategy. Partner and collaborate with all functional leaders to influence and manage EHS resources, projects, and business decisions. Create a network of internal (human resources, supply chain, finance, legal, corporate claims and analytics) and external alliances (industry partners, State safety groups) to develop and implement EHS policies, programs, procedures, standards, training, and processes Design and execute injury prevention programs/initiatives to motivate and influence the creation of a world class safety culture and minimize injury risk. Analyze and identify trends that increase injury and accident frequency/severity; develop and direct the implementation of training programs using the appropriate media. Support environmental compliance and claims programs (workers compensation, general liability, motor vehicle, property damage).
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree with major course work in EHS, risk management safety/industrial/quality/environmental engineering or a closely related field OR relevant Sysco EHS experience as determined by EHS leadership to be equivalent (in lieu of degree).

Preferred: Master’s Degree with major course work in EHS, risk management safety/industrial/quality/ environmental engineering or a closely related field is preferred.
Experience
Required: 10+ years of progressive EHS program management experience with large national or multi-national companies with multiple Sites or experience deemed equivalent.
Experience
Preferred: Strong background in and knowledge of USA federal, state and local EHS requirements and industry standards/best practices (i.e. acts, regulations, codes, standards and case law). Licenses/Certifications Required: Certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professional
