Job Description
AECOM is seeking a BIM Specialist to support digital project delivery across multidisciplinary teams. This new role focuses on the technical systems, standards, and workflows that enable project teams to work efficiently and consistently throughout the project lifecycle. The BIM Specialist acts as a bridge between project teams and AECOM’s Digital/BIM leadership, helping implement established standards, improve workflows, maintain model health, and support the adoption of digital delivery practices across projects. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, mentoring, and support for continuous improvement initiatives aligned with AECOM’s regional and global digital delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Delivery, Standards and Project Support Support the setup and maintenance of BIM environments in accordance with AECOM standards, including templates, shared parameters, content libraries, and project documentation. Provide technical troubleshooting, guidance, and mentoring related to BIM models, workflows, and digital tools. Support model health through coordination, quality assurance activities, auditing, and performance optimization. Promote consistency across projects by applying standardized workflows, best practices, and structured digital delivery approaches. Support multidisciplinary project collaboration and act as a liaison between project teams and Digital/BIM leadership. Process Improvement and Team Enablement Support project kickoff activities and onboarding of project teams to established digital workflows and standards. Assist with training, knowledge sharing, and technical support to improve team capabilities and adoption of BIM standards. Identify workflow challenges and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Support the implementation and adoption of AECOM’s digital delivery standards and best practices across projects. Level of Responsibility Work under general supervision with increasing autonomy and accountability. Independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the scope of the role, escalating complex issues when required. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital delivery practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Diploma or bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, building technology, or a related field, or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience. 2+ years of experience supporting BIM or digital project delivery in an architecture, engineering, construction, or consulting environment. Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and experience working within BIM environments. Knowledge of
