MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company-sponsored Interim Secret is required to start. Architects and designs Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Designs and develops RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Prepares test methods and specifications; analyzes and tests RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase. In addition, develops RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. Performs link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Develops and allocates RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Identifies and tracks RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). Performs RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis. Basic Qualifications Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or BS Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) accepted plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional engineering experience or 6 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Extensive experience with troubleshooting designs and resolving integration issues for RF applications. Extensive experience with the use of RF microwave test equipment and microwave simulation tools. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Candidate must be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance and be able to obtain at least an Interim Secret Clearance before starting the position, therefore you must be a US Citizen. Desired Skills Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related technical field. Active DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance Significant relevant experience in the defense electronics industry, including architecture development for RF systems. Experience designing active RF modules, circuits or systems. Extensive experience with troubleshooting designs and resolving integration issues in a production or manufacturing environment. Extensive experience testing microwave products at the RF circuit card assembly (CCA), module, or subassembly level. Expert level knowledge of microwave simulation tools. Expertise with datalink or T/R module architecture. Expertise with RF subsystems and hardware including antennas, transmitters, receivers, microwave components, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, advanced electronic modules, amplifiers, mixers, switches, frequency generation circuits, and frequency conversion circuits. Experience with microelectronics assembly techniques. Expertise with technical documentation such as specifications, schematic drawings, and test data.
