Job responsibilities
Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope and delivers creative solutions for firewall design, implementation, automation, and technical troubleshooting across complex network security environments. Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements. Drives workstreams involving firewall technologies and collaborates with network, security, and infrastructure teams to implement changes, support production firewall operations, modernize processes, and improve service delivery through automation. Strongly considers upstream and downstream technical dependencies, security implications, and operational risks, and provides guidance on mitigation strategies to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure services. Leads production firewall rule implementations, change management activities, stakeholder communications, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high standards of operational stability, risk management, and customer service. Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines. Formal training or certification in infrastructure, networking, or security engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience supporting enterprise network security and firewall technologies. Deep knowledge of networking and security infrastructure, including firewalls, routing and switching, VLANs, load balancing, network topology, automation, performance optimization, and resilience engineering. Deep knowledge of firewall technologies and security platforms, including Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Check Point, with experience using firewall management, orchestration, monitoring, and log analysis tools such as Tufin and Splunk. Deep knowledge of cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, with strong experience in scripting and automation using Python and APIs to integrate, automate, and enhance network and security solutions across large-scale enterprise environments. Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity. Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
