The organization seeks an experienced and hands-on finance leader to oversee its financial operations, support long-term sustainability, and contribute as a key member of the executive leadership team. To thrive/succeed as the Director of Finance, you should have: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred. Eight to ten or more years of progressive accounting and financial management experience. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing audits, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Demonstrated success managing nonprofit accounting, grants, restricted funds, and donor-designated resources preferred. Experience improving processes, implementing controls, and leveraging technology to enhance finance operations. Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Your responsibilities as the Director of Finance will include: Lead all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and financial systems. Bring outsourced accounting and reporting functions in-house and establish sustainable workflows and controls. Manage and develop the finance team while ensuring timely and accurate financial operations. Oversee financial reporting, account reconciliations, cash management, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger activities. Direct annual budgeting and long-range financial planning efforts. Monitor restricted funds, grants, pledges, and donor-designated contributions to ensure compliance and proper reporting. Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and financial compliance programs. Improve accounting systems, reporting tools, and technology integration, including AI-driven process enhancements. Partner with organizational leadership to support strategic decision-making and institutional priorities.
