Join our Phoenix team as a Project Survey Technician and help shape the communities, infrastructure, and development projects transforming one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. In this highly technical, detail-driven role, you’ll support survey project teams by turning field data, records, and calculations into accurate, high-quality survey deliverables that guide design, construction, land development, transportation, utility, and public infrastructure work across the Valley. Responsibilities
Analyze and prepare complete boundary survey by compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location. Perform Quality Control review on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness. Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents. Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field and/or other tasks on more complex projects. Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans. Provide direction to staff to complete project objectives. Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff including sub-consultants and/or contractors.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate degree or equivalent technical experience is preferred. 5+ years of related surveying experience required. Experience working on DOT projects preferred. AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency required. MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads proficiency highly preferred. Proficient various data techniques and coding systems. Advanced knowledge of various surveying instruments, techniques, and computations. Advanced understanding of angular and linear measurement systems. Advanced knowledge of trigonometry and geometry. Valid drivers’ license required and ability to operate a motor vehicle. MVR will be checked and monitored. Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. Construction Surveying Experience a plus. 3D Scanning Registration Experience a plus.
