The Oligonucleotide Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for executing and optimizing manufacturing processes for oligonucleotide products while serving as a technical resource for the production team. This role applies advanced laboratory and manufacturing expertise to support high-quality, on-time delivery of products, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and assist in the training and development of team members. As the group expands, this individual will have the opportunity to progress into supervisory roles. This position reports to the Production Manager and is part of the operations group l ocated in Sunnyvale, CA and will be an on-site role . In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Execute and troubleshoot oligonucleotide production workflows, reagent preparation, and associated manufacturing processes to meet throughput, quality, and on-time delivery KPIs. Train, mentor, and onboard new team members while promoting adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and quality standards. Perform and coordinate tasks associated with lab maintenance includin g instrument validation, inventory management and decontamination procedures. Lead or support investigations related to process deviations, quality events, equipment issues, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using DBS tools (e.g., kaizen, standard work) to enhance yield, cycle time, and efficiency and other duties as assigned. The essential requirements of the job includ e: Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline and 5 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment , or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Experience with nucleic acid manufacturing, sequencing workflows, or similar life science production processes Experience follow ing and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with a n exceptional level of attention to detail Travel, Schedule & Physical/Environment Requirements: Ability to work in a laboratory/manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50 lb Willing to work shift schedule starting in 2027 (one weekend day and hours outside standard 9am-5pm) It would be a plus if you also possess : Lean Six Sigma Certifications ( eg , Green Belt) and process improvement experience
