Since 2014, Capital One Canada’s software studio has grown from a team of 10 to a team of over 250. About the Role
As a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM) , you will lead an established team of TPMs to drive execution across multi-year technology roadmaps, large-scale integration strategies, and complex application convergence efforts. This is an executive technical leadership role for an operator who excels at navigating complex enterprise matrixes, influencing engineering and business leaders, and relentlessly getting stuff done . You will simplify intricate architectural trade-offs, align cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Design, and Data Science, and elevate the performance of an existing TPM practice to accelerate delivery for Capital One customers.
Your Responsibilities
Drive Execution on Complex Technical Initiatives ("Get Stuff Done") Execute High-Stakes Programs: Take ownership of complex, multi-workstream technical initiatives—including legacy application convergence, AWS cloud architecture updates, and enterprise data migration efforts. Unblock Delivery Teams: Roll up your sleeves to diagnose delivery bottlenecks, resolve architectural dependencies, and keep engineering teams moving at high velocity. Relentless Accountability: Establish clear execution baselines, enforce rigorous follow-through across multi-team releases, and deliver high-impact results in a fast-paced environment. 2. Navigate Matrixed Organizations & Influence Stakeholders Cross-Functional Alignment: Navigate complex enterprise structures across US and Canadian leadership, building trusted partnerships across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Design, and Risk teams. Influence Without Direct Authority: Align competing organizational priorities, negotiate technical trade-offs with senior engineering leaders, and secure commitments across functional and reporting boundaries. Simplify Technical Complexity: Translate intricate technical constraints, API contracts, and distributed cloud risks into crisp, executive-ready choices for leadership. 3.
