The Environmental Effects Engineering team at Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced EMP–TEMPEST Electrical Engineer with a current CTP-II certification or someone actively pursuing CTP-II certification to join our Richardson, TX facility. This position will support programs within the Richardson IS portfolio as well as other Collins Aerospace SBUs, including but not limited to Mission Systems and Avionics Systems. The engineer will be responsible for providing design-support activities related to EMP and TEMPEST disciplines for products and subsystems of moderate to high complexity, as well as supporting programs during bid phases, requirements allocation, and system design and development. What You Will Do : Travel for EMP or TEMPEST testing, business meetings, and customer engagements will be required. Serve assigned projects as the focal point for EMP and TEMPEST activities, including: Contribute to engineering program pursuits and bid estimates Support the acquisition process by developing EMP-compliant designs to achieve compliance with existing and emerging EMP tests associated with MIL-STD-188-125-1, MIL-STD-188-125-2, MIL-STD-2169, MIL-STD-3023, and MIL-STD-464 Knowledge and understanding of MIL-STD-461 and/or DO-160 is a plus, but not required Knowledge and understanding of the EMI/EMC discipline is desired, but not required Perform requirements capture activities (review, parse, and translate TEMPEST, EMP, EMC/EMI, and power input requirements) Support documentation needs for each assigned project, including: Preparation and review of TEMPEST control plans, test procedures, and test reports (if already a CTP) Preparation and review of EMP environments for Nuclear Survivability Design Analysis Reports, test procedures/test reports Contribute to development of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Integration and Analysis Reports (E3IAR) Generate repeatable test procedures and physical test setups using appropriate test equipment and data-recording methods based on applicable military and commercial standards Develop and review TEMPEST test reports Provide support to programs during the design and development phases Coordinate and schedule in-house and external test activities Validate laboratory test setups and methods to ensure compliance with test procedures and applicable standards Interface with project engineers, as necessary, to support program activities Operate and learn the system under test and gain proficiency with systems being evaluated Conduct and lead day-to-day EMP and TEMPEST testing activities, working independently across multiple projects and
