We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Infectious Diseases Division within Abbott Rapid Diagnostics, based at our Galway facility. As Project Manager, you will lead strategic manufacturing projects involving Third-Party Manufacturers, working with both domestic and international cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for delivering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring objectives are achieved on time, within budget, and in line with quality and business requirements.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will: Take ownership of overall project scope, timelines, budget, and successful delivery. Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and key deliverables. Lead strategic manufacturing and operational projects involving Third-Party Manufacturers. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and objectives are achieved. Identify, assess, and manage project risks while implementing effective mitigation strategies. Oversee project documentation, including operational plans, quality transfer documentation, vendor contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Master Service Agreements (MSAs). Monitor project performance and communicate progress, challenges, and achievements to stakeholders and senior leadership. Prepare and deliver project updates, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences. Track budget performance, analyse variances, and recommend contingency plans where required. Collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple functional areas to drive project success. Facilitate problem-solving activities and lead teams in identifying and implementing effective solutions. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment that supports project delivery and team effectiveness. Support decision-making processes within cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and business priorities.
Education & Experience
BSc in a related discipline Minimum of 4 years' experience in project management or a related field including two or more years of experience in a similar project management role within a manufacturing, operations, medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare environment. Two or more years of experience working within a regulated environment, including FDA-regulated industries. Experience managing external vendors, third-party manufacturers, or supplier-based projects. Knowledge of project management methodologies, risk management, and budget control processes. Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and stakeholder relationships. Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience
