Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that LG&E and KU is able and ready to effectively respond to emergency events. This position supports the development of emergency response restoration strategies and coordinates support during emergencies. This position establishes strategy, best practices, policies, and processes around emergency response and assures those policies and processes are integrated into LG&E and KU's Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP).   #LG&EKU #INDLGE Responsibilities •Coordinates development and upkeep of LGE & KU’s EPRP within LG&E and KU’s defined Incident Command System (ICS). •Assures consistent review and update of EPRP sections by assigned Section Chiefs. •Serves as LG&E and KU's emergency management representative for external organizations such as the Kentucky Emergency Operations Center, Regional Mutual Assistance Organizations, County Emergency Response Agencies, etc. •Continually explores and benchmarks emergency response best practices throughout the industry and integrates those practices into the PPLs and or LGE & KU’s emergency planning and response processes. •Assures adoption of industry best practices for emergency preparedness, response, and mutual assistance through alignment across PPL with designated industry emergency preparedness and response references. •Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures and disseminates program information for Emergency Preparedness functions. •Coordinates scheduling and execution of table-top exercises and drills on plan ICS Sections along with coordinating after action reviews following emergency responses, drills, and table-top exercises. •Assures Alert Level Checklists are consistently reviewed and updated based on lessons learned from after action reviews of emergency responses. •Develops and maintains measures, performance indicators, scorecards and other means for measuring emergency response performance as a mechanism to facilitate continual improvement. •Oversees the Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) planning, including training and qualification of dispatchers, damage assessors, and wire guards; and may be responsible for the execution of established response processes during emergencies. •May be assigned an LG&E and KU emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule. •The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers. •Performs other duties as assigned •Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis is required.   Required
