The Role
Joining Moderna offers the unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team that's revolutionizing medicine through mRNA technology. As we continue to expand our international manufacturing and commercial footprint, we are looking for an experienced HR professional to support our growing team in Spain. Based in Madrid, you will be the primary HR partner for our Spain organization, working closely with leaders and employees to create an exceptional employee experience while ensuring compliance with Spanish employment legislation and labor relations requirements. This is a highly visible role that combines partnership with local leaders and functional HRBPs with hands-on delivery. You will help shape the culture of our growing site, build leadership capability, manage employee relations, and act as Moderna's trusted expert on Spanish employment practices. Here’s What You’ll Do Serve as the primary HR partner for the Spain organization, providing strategic and operational HR support to leaders and employees. Manage the relationship with the Works Council, including preparation, consultation processes, meetings, documentation and follow-up actions. Lead employee relations activities across Spain, including workplace concerns, investigations, conflict resolution, performance management and other sensitive employee matters. Advise managers on Spanish employment legislation, labor regulations, HR policies and best practices. Coach leaders through organizational change, team effectiveness, talent decisions and complex people situations. Partner with leaders to strengthen organizational culture, employee engagement and retention as the Madrid site continues to grow. Design, plan and facilitate onsite sessions focused on culture, collaboration, engagement and employee experience. Lead the local Manager Development Series, equipping managers with practical leadership skills and confidence. Partner closely with HR Centers of Excellence—including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning, Employee Relations and HR Operations—to ensure global programs are effectively implemented and adapted for Spain. Support the continuous improvement of the employee experience journey across key moments including onboarding, development, internal mobility and offboarding. Analyze employee feedback, engagement data and business insights to identify trends and recommend practical people solutions. Ensure HR practices remain compliant with Spanish employment legislation while balancing business objectives and employee experience. Support organizational design, workforce planning and change initiatives as the business evolves. Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken required A minimum of 7 years of progressive human resources experience Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken Demonstrated experience in strategic HRBP support, including performance coaching and talent planning Track record of successful cross-functional partnership and HR project delivery Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence without authority Ability to navigate ambiguity and propose practical, scalable HR solutions Effective project management and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and integrity Proficiency using HR systems and tools for managing data, tracking progress, and reporting Pay & Benefits At Moderna, we believe that when you feel your best, you can do your best work.
